3D model viewer — size, weight and a pre-print check right in your browser

The model opens in your browser: files are not sent anywhere.
What the viewer can do
Opens STL, 3MF, OBJ with textures, GLB, glTF and PLY — as a file, a folder or a ZIP. Shows the size in millimetres or inches, estimates the weight and approximate cost of printing in plastic, resin or metal, checks whether the model is watertight and fixes flipped faces and junk triangles for you. Measure between points with the ruler; rotate, scale or lay the model on the bed by any face; save the result as STL, 3MF, OBJ, GLB, USDZ or PLY. If the model doesn’t fit your printer, one button shrinks it to fit the bed.
Checks whether the model will print on a plastic or resin printer: shows islands, overhangs, thin spots and weak necks right on the model — with the layer, the height and an explanation of what will happen and what to do. It’s an estimate based on the shape; the first layer and calibration are up to the printer.
Frequently asked questions
Which files can I open?
STL (binary and text), 3MF, OBJ — with materials and textures if you open them together with the model as several files, a folder or a ZIP — plus GLB, glTF and PLY, including point clouds. STEP and other CAD formats don’t open yet.
Is my model uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened and checked right in your browser: it never leaves your computer or phone, and we don’t see or store it.
How do I find the print weight and cost?
Open the Print panel, choose the material and infill and enter the price per kilogram. Weight and cost are estimates: your slicing software will show the exact amount of plastic, and for metal, sprues and shrinkage are not included.
The model opened tiny — is it in inches?
Probably: STL and OBJ don’t store units, so a model in inches looks 25.4 times smaller. The viewer will offer to scale it up, or use the “Inches to mm (× 25.4)” button in the Scale… window. 3MF stores its units, so this doesn’t happen with it.
Why is my model grey?
Its material or texture files weren’t found — for example, an OBJ was opened without its MTL and images. Open the model together with them: as several files, a folder or a ZIP. The Check panel lists the missing files.
How do I view the model on an iPhone or iPad?
Press Download and choose USDZ: the file opens on an iPhone or iPad straight from Files or Mail.
Can I open 3D files with a double-click?
Yes, in Chrome and Edge on a computer: install the site as an app with the install icon in the address bar, and STL, 3MF, OBJ, GLB, glTF and PLY files will open in it straight from a folder. If a double-click opens another program, choose BrowsersKit in the “Open with” menu.
The model doesn’t fit my printer — what can I do?
Choose your printer’s bed in the Print panel. If the model doesn’t fit, press “Shrink to fit the bed”: it is scaled down proportionally so that it fits the bed with a small margin. If it fits only when turned by 90°, the panel says so. You can undo this like any other change. A message shows the percentage the model was scaled down to.
Can I find out in advance whether the model will print?
Yes — in the “Will it print?” section of the Check panel. Choose plastic or resin, the nozzle and the layer height, and the viewer slices the model into layers and shows right on it where a part starts in mid-air, where an overhang will sag, which spot is too thin and will vanish when sliced and where a thin neck may break. Every finding comes with the layer, the height, an explanation and a fix button. It’s an estimate based on the model’s shape: the first layer, calibration and material are up to the printer. The file isn’t sent anywhere.
Is it free to use?
Yes, this tool is free and needs no sign-up. Your file is processed right in your browser and is not uploaded to a server. There are no watermarks.
