Privacy Policy

In short
Files you open in the tools are processed in your browser and are not sent to our servers. The site has no registration and no accounts. Analytics that uses cookies is only turned on with your consent.
Who is responsible for the site
The owner of browserskit.com is responsible for the site and its analytics. Owner details are on the Terms of use page. Contact us: support@browserskit.com
What is collected automatically
Cloudflare hosts the site. Its servers see technical request data: IP address, browser and page address. This is needed for the site to load and stay protected from attacks. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying anyone. You can turn Cloudflare Web Analytics off for yourself below, under “How to opt out of analytics”.
Microsoft Clarity — only if you clicked “Allow”. Clarity records how the page is used: clicks, scrolling, navigation, errors, device and browser type, approximate country. Text on the page is hidden in recordings. Clarity sets cookies; the data is processed by Microsoft, including on servers in the USA. Clarity is not offered or loaded for visitors from Russia or when the country cannot be determined; Cloudflare determines the country from the IP address. The Python IDE, file transfer, language lessons and fraction calculator have no analytics at all.
If a conversion fails, the error code, file format and approximate file size are sent along with the analytics you allowed. File contents and file names are never sent.
What is stored on your device
Site settings, favourite tools and your analytics choice are kept in the browser’s storage. Libraries and neural network models are cached so they don’t have to be downloaded again. All of this stays on your device and is removed when you clear the site’s data in your browser settings.
Third-party services in specific tools
Some tools download models and libraries from Hugging Face, jsDelivr and PyPI the first time they run. The video thumbnail tool loads the image from YouTube’s servers. File transfer finds the other device through public Nostr and STUN servers (including Google’s); the files travel directly between browsers, and the other device sees your IP address. These services see your IP address and handle it under their own rules.
Speech to text: an uploaded file is recognized on your device. Recording from the microphone uses the browser’s built-in recognition. If the browser cannot recognize speech on the device, the recording goes to the browser’s developer (Google, Microsoft or Apple), and only after you agree.
The speed test downloads and uploads test data to Cloudflare’s servers (speed.cloudflare.com), which see your IP address. Your test history is stored only in your browser.
English and French lessons: your progress is stored only in your browser and is not sent anywhere. “Say it out loud” tasks recognize speech the way you chose: with a neural network on your device, so your voice never leaves it, or with the browser’s built-in recognition. In that case the voice recording goes to the browser’s developer (Google, Microsoft or Apple), and only after you agree. The lesson voices are pre-recorded files from this site. Lines without a recording are read by your browser’s speech synthesis; depending on the browser, that voice may be produced by its developer’s service.
Why and on what basis
Technical data and cookie-free visit counting are needed to run, protect and measure overall traffic on the site — our legitimate interest. Clarity analytics helps us find bugs and make the tools easier to use; it only runs with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
How long data is kept
Microsoft keeps Clarity data for no longer than 13 months. Cloudflare sets the retention period for technical logs. We do not store visitor data on servers of our own.
Transfers to other countries
Microsoft, Cloudflare, Google and the other services named above may process data in the USA and other countries. Microsoft, Cloudflare and Google take part in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognizes as providing adequate protection.
Your rights
Depending on the law of your country, you may ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, and object to its processing. You can withdraw your consent to analytics at any time — see below for how. The site has no accounts, so we cannot find a particular person’s data by name or email; Clarity data is deleted automatically when the retention period ends. If you believe your rights have been violated, write to us and we will sort it out: support@browserskit.com
The laws of your country may also give you the right to contact a data protection authority.
How to opt out of analytics
Click “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page and choose “Decline”: Clarity will be switched off and its cookies deleted. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, then we ask again.
Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies and works without the banner: it only counts how many times pages are opened and does not know who you are. If you do not want to be part of even these overall statistics, press the button below — your choice is remembered in this browser.
Your visits are counted.
Children
The site is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 16, do not allow analytics without a parent’s permission. The lessons and the fraction calculator have no analytics.
Changes
If the data we collect changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
