Open, view and print .docx files right in your browser
Files open in your browser and are never sent anywhere.
Install the site as an app with the install icon in the address bar. Then .docx files will open here with a double click from a folder.
What the editor can do
Opens .docx files in your browser and shows them page by page, with tables, lists, pictures, headers and footnotes. Zoom with the buttons, or fit the page to the window width. Print with Ctrl+P: the page size and margins come from the file. The Download button saves the original file unchanged. Nothing is uploaded: the file is read and drawn on your device. Documents with landscape pages may print incompletely in this version.
Frequently asked questions
Which files open?
Files in the .docx format. Files in the old .doc format do not open. Save them as .docx first. Files protected with a password do not open either. Remove the password and try again.
Are my documents uploaded to a server?
No. A document opens right in your browser and never leaves your computer or phone. We do not see it and do not store it.
Can I open a file with a double click?
Yes, in Chrome and Edge on a computer. Install the site as an app with the install icon in the address bar. Then right-click a .docx file, choose Open with, pick BrowsersKit and tick Always use this app. Editing is not available yet in this version.
Will the document look exactly like the original?
Pages are drawn in the browser. Fonts that your device does not have are replaced with similar ones, so line breaks in complex documents can shift a little. Check an important document before you print it. Documents with landscape pages may print incompletely in this version.
How do I print or save as PDF?
Press Ctrl+P or the Print button. The page size and margins are taken from the file. In the print window, choose Save as PDF as the printer to get a PDF file.
Is it free to use?
Yes, this tool is free and needs no sign-up. Your file is processed right in your browser and is not uploaded to a server. There are no watermarks.
