Python playground: write and run code, draw with turtle — right in your browser, no installation
📚 How it works and what is available
Real CPython in the browser. The code runs on Pyodide — the Python interpreter compiled to WebAssembly. Nothing is sent to any server: everything is computed on your device, and the engine is cached after the first visit.
Libraries. NumPy, OpenCV, pandas, matplotlib and hundreds of other binary packages load automatically on import. Any pure-Python package from PyPI installs via the "Install package" button (micropip). Packages with native code outside the Pyodide build, sockets and subprocess do not work.
Images. The show(img) function renders a numpy array (BGR or grayscale) or ready-made PNG bytes in the panel below the code — handy for OpenCV experiments.
Files from your computer. "Open folder" gives access to a local folder: edit and save files right from the browser (Ctrl+S). The browser asks for permission — access stays within this tab only.
Turtle graphics. The turtle module works as in regular Python: code from a textbook or an exam runs without changes. The drawing appears in the console and is completed as the program runs; you can download it as a PNG or expand it to full screen. The “Share link” command carries the whole program: it opens in the editor for everyone you send it to, and they only need to press “Run”. Pictures for bgpic and register_shape come from the opened folder; where a folder cannot be opened, you get a “file not found” error — just as in Python when the file is not next to the program.

Frequently asked questions
Does turtle work here?
Yes. The standard turtle module works as in regular Python 3: code from a textbook or an exam runs without changes. The drawing appears right in the console — you can download it as a PNG or expand it to full screen for a projector.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Python 3.13 runs right in your browser: on the first visit the page downloads the interpreter (about 15 MB), and after that it comes from the cache.
Which libraries can I use?
NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, OpenCV and hundreds of other packages load by themselves on import. Pure Python packages from PyPI are installed in the “Packages” tab. Packages with native code outside the Pyodide build, sockets and subprocess don’t work.
Do input() and keyboard input work?
Yes. input() asks right in the console, as in a terminal, and you can paste several lines at once. The turtle functions textinput() and numinput() open a window with a field.
Is my code sent anywhere?
No. The program runs on your device. “Share link” keeps the code inside the link itself, so it never reaches a server.
Does the sandbox work on a phone or tablet?
Yes: on touch screens a dedicated editor turns on, and input and drawings work. Opening a folder from your computer is possible only in Chrome and Edge on a computer; on a phone the code lives in the draft.
Is it free to use?
Yes, this tool is free and needs no sign-up. Your file is processed right in your browser and is not uploaded to a server. There are no watermarks.
